Imagine this: one week you’re serving Whoppers and chips at Burger King and the next you’re being photographed by Brooklyn Beckham for his debut Burberry campaign. Well that was exactly the case for Lewis Helim from Liverpool. And the best part is, he didn’t even recognise his famous photographer.

Burger King worker stars in Brooklyn Beckham's Burberry campaign

Burger King staffer, 20-year-old Lewis Helim, is the new face of the latest Burberry fragrance campaign after he was scouted serving food in his local branch.

He told the Liverpool Echo: “A woman came in with her boyfriend and asked me if I had some paper so she could write something down. I gave her a serviette and she wrote down the email address for Select Model Management.”

He continued: “I hadn’t heard of them before so I nipped upstairs to Google it and saw all these big names. Two weeks later I had signed for Select.”

Speaking about his big shoot with Brooklyn (it was his photography debut), he said he was none the wiser as to the identity of his famous photogrpaher: “I went to the shoot in London and I just thought he was a boy called Brooklyn – everything was so crazy that I couldn’t take it in.

“I came off the set and Victoria Beckham was there looking at the images on the computer and told me I had a great look. I knew I recognised her but I didn’t realise who she was.

“Later on I told one of the other models I had always wanted to be a footballer and they told me I should speak to Brooklyn’s dad, so I said ‘who’s he?’

“It was only then it all added up. They were lovely, genuine people.”

Helim has now quit the weekend job (yay for him) and is modelling full time. Boy do we love a success story!
