In a new video for H&M’s “For Every Victory” campaign, spokesperson Caitlyn Jenner talks about overcoming obstacles big and small.
Over a montage featuring athletes who have overcome obstacles of their own, including Chelsea Werner, a gymnast with Down syndrome, Jenner remembers feeling defeated before actually achieving greatness. “I thought it was too late. I thought the goal was too far away. I felt like I couldn’t do it alone or with the entire world watching my every step,” she admits.
“Nothing came easy but nothing truly important ever does,” she continues. “To keep going no matter what the obstacles is what victory looks like, whether you’re representing your country or yourself.”
The campaign, which also features footage of Jenner competing in the Olympics, serves as an homage to her overcoming obstacles as an athlete and coming out as transgender.
