Christopher Nolan has released the teaser for his forthcoming war film, “Dunkirk” starring Harry Styles. It’s the director’s first project since 2014’s Interstellar.
While the film world would be excited about the release regardless, Nolan has attracted a bigger audience this time round after casting Styles. Stills emerged this week of the former One Directioner in full military costume, but much the chagrin of his legions of fans, he doesn’t appear in the cryptic trailer. The film also stars Tom Hardy, Mark Rylance and Cillian Murphy.

The film focuses on the evacuation of Allied soldiers by the British Army from the city of Dunkirk in 1940. We have to say that even without Styles, the trailer does look really, really good. It opens with waves lapping the shore before focusing on tense-looking troops. Scenes are broken up with the words, “At the point of crisis”, “At the point of annihilation” and “Survival is victory”.
It’s a very chilling reminder of what really happened at Dunkirk, where 68,000 soldiers were killed and 338,226 were evacuated. The film will hit the cinemas in July 2017.
We can’t wait to watch the movie!
