The wait for Frank Ocean’s second album may be over.
The Grammy Award-winning singer has announced via social media that his long-delayed album Boys Don’t Cry will be released soon. How soon? Well, according to him, this month. On Saturday morning (July 2, 2016), an image of a library card appeared on his website in a post titled “Late,” alongside a string of dates that begins with the intended July 2015 release of the album.
Meanwhile, Ocean’s younger brother Ryan Breaux posted the same image on Instagram, alongside a caption that included the hashtag #July2016.
Channel Orange, Ocean’s first studio album, dropped in July 2012. He was later nominated for six Grammy Awards in 2013, including album of the year. Since then, fans have been patiently (including Adele) waiting for him to drop his sophomore album.
