There will be no Magic Mike 3 coming to movie theaters.
Although Channing Tatum shut down any hope we had about a third film happening, he revealed that we do have a Broadway musical and Las Vegas dance show to look forward to.
The actor got to talking about the future of the movie franchise at Cannes Lions over the weekend and while not much is know about either project, he did tease that he might have been able to secure a “brilliant, brilliant” director for the job.
“The third installment will be the show, and I think it has to evolve past these guys,” he said. “The first one was about Mike, the second one was about the guys and I think the third one is really about man and woman having a conversation about sex and themselves and who we all are. That’s the next step I would like to take with the story.”
Even though we might never get to see Joe Manganiello and Matt Bomer take off their shirts together ever again, we’ll settle for shirtless men on Broadway.
