Prince Harry took a HIV test live on Facebook yesterday, in attempts to encourage people to get tested for the virus.
The 31 year-old royal was tested at the Burrell Street centre in central London with the procedure being posted live on the royal family’s Facebook page.
Harry, who previously announced his commitment to highlighting the issue of HIV/Aids, demonstrated the quick and easy test which involves only a simple prick at the finger in order to help tackle the stigma of being tested and encourage others to do the same. His results were available within a minute, showing he had tested negative.

But of course, the idea of a needle – big or small, is enough to give us all a bit of anxiety and the prince is no exception. Before taking the test, Harry admitted: “”Even being the person I am and knowing the type of people I’m around, I’m still nervous.”
After his test went live on the internet, Prince Harry was praised by many for his efforts, including the Terrance Higgins Trust who named it a “ground-breaking moment in the fight against HIV.”
