The singer took to the stage at the north-west London venue on Friday night. Rihanna’s first London gig seemingly failed to set the capital alight on Friday. As the UK left the EU, the Bajan pop beauty brought her ANTI World tour to Wembley Arena, but didn’t draw in the crowds she’s used to. Not only that, audience members complained that the singer disappeared from stage for up to 10 minutes at a time.
“She rushed through the songs and everything was double the tempo. There were 10 minute dance breaks where she went off stage and nobody knew what is going on.
“People weren’t too happy with the performance and there were a lot of empty seats.”
While fans took to Twitter to point out just how empty the 90,000 capacity north-west London venue, was.
“My does Rihanna concert at Wembley look so dead, it’s half empty,” one wrote.
Another shared: “Wow how empty is Wembley. Poor Rihanna.
Though plenty of fans also praised the performance, with one describing it as “epic”.
It comes after the singer broke down on stage mid-performance at her concert in Dublin earlier this week.
The Bajan pop star worried fans when she started sobbing during a rendition of Love The Way You Lie.
“Why was Rihanna crying today at her concert?” one concerned fan asked on Twitter after cameras captured her wiping away tears.
Another said: “I’ve never seen Rihanna cry. Why is she crying?”
Following the show, she took to social media to say she was so blessed to have the fans that she does – though didn’t address why she was crying.
“What a night!! Such an emotional show for me! I feel so lucky to have a team like the Navy man! I’m blessed! No matter what I’m on you always snatch me out of it! I’m so grateful to have y’all!”
Mirror Celebs contacted a rep for Rihanna who declined to comment.
