Taylor Swift is using her massive bank account for good, donating $1 million to the relief efforts after the devastating and deadly floods in Louisiana.
In a statement released to the Associated Press on Tuesday, Swift credited her fans in Louisiana who so warmly welcomed her during her opening night of the “989 World Tour for inspiring her to give the donation.
“We began The 1989 World Tour in Louisiana, and the wonderful fans there made us feel completely at home. The fact that so many people in Louisiana have been forced out of their own homes this week is heartbreaking,” the statement reads.
“I encourage those who can to help out and send your love and prayers their way during this devastating time,” Swift continued.
The floods, which have prompted the governor to declare a state of emergency, have already claimed the lives of 11 people.
