Zoe Saldana, Hollywood’s go-to leading lady for box office-crushing sci-fi franchises, is our latest kickass cover star. And in her interview, the star of Avatar, Guardians Of The Galaxy and this month’s Star Trek Beyond, makes the case for her friend, Idris Elba, to be the next James Bond.
“I think Idris should have been Bond a long time ago, and if the people behind Bond are not capable of evolving, then I really hope that the whole franchise passes on to new, fresher, younger and more intelligent hands: people who are able to make better decisions for James Bond.”
Zoe also discusses life with her “Adonis” husband, Marco, and their twin sons, how she feels about turning 40 (“I’m not going to give a shit about it. I’m going to be just as sexy”) and sci-fi sex scenes: “I mean, it’s logical to assume that people have sex in space, right?'”
The 38-year-old actress is outspoken on more serious matters, too, tackling social injustice and feminism in her interview: “We made history in America when Hillary Clinton won the presidential nomination. We literally broke the ceiling. And when Obama made history, there were planes flying through the sky, and people yelling in the streets…”
